Skincare Mistakes I See Every Winter (and How to Avoid Them)
Every January, cold weather, dry indoor heat, and sudden skincare changes take a toll on skin.
Most winter issues come down to a few common mistakes — and they’re easy to fix!
Top Winter Skincare Mistakes:
-
Over-exfoliating
Cold weather already weakens your skin barrier. Exfoliate gently 1–2 times per week and focus on hydration and repair. -
Skipping SPF
UVA rays are present year-round, and snow reflects UV. Wear broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily, even in winter. -
Using hot water on your face
Hot water strips natural oils. Cleanse with lukewarm water instead. -
Not adjusting your routine seasonally
Summer products can be too drying. Switch to gentler cleansers, richer moisturizers, and hydrating serums
(i.e. Epionce Gentle Foaming Cleanser or Epionce Milky Cleanser). -
Trying too many new products at once
Introducing too much too fast can irritate skin. Make changes slowly or work with an aesthetician.
If your skin feels dry, irritated, or unpredictable this winter, I’d love to help you create a routine that actually works!
